Obedience That Holds Up Anywhere
Sit, down, stay, come and loose-leash walking are the skills owners ask for most, and they matter only if your dog does them when it counts. That’s why obedience training at Rising Sun Canine Training starts in our Marion facility and moves out to parking lots, parks and stores once your dog is ready.
Along the way you learn how to give clear cues and read your dog, so the communication between you keeps getting better long after the program ends.

Help With Bigger Behavior Problems
Some dogs need more than manners. Aggression toward people or other dogs, leash reactivity and separation anxiety all get their own plan, built on solid obedience and a lot of patience.

Lessons Paced for Your Household
Weekly one-hour lessons run 6, 8 or 12 weeks. Austin set the programs up that way so nobody gets rushed. An older couple, a first-time owner or a family juggling kids and jobs can take the longer track and still finish with a dog that listens.
The 12-week program is the one most families choose, because each skill gets time to hold up around real distractions before the next one starts. We’ll help you pick the right length once we’ve met your dog.

Practice That Fits Real Life
Half of dog training is teaching the people. Each lesson ends with a short plan for home, a few minutes at a time, built around the walks, mealtimes and front-door moments you already have.
- Two or three short sessions a day beat one long one
- Reward the behavior you want before the old habit kicks in
- Keep the leash and treats by the door so every walk counts
- Bring your questions to the next lesson, even the small ones

Frequently Asked Questions
How much do you charge for dog training?
The price depends on the program length, the format and what your dog needs, so we quote after we’ve met your dog at the free consultation instead of guessing over the phone. You get one clear number before you commit, and every program can be paid in parts.
What kinds of dogs and problems do you work with?
All breeds and ages, from eight-week-old puppies to seniors. Most families start with obedience and manners, like pulling, jumping and commands that get ignored, and no problem is too small to bring to us.
How soon will we see a difference?
You leave the first lesson with something to practice that same evening. Habits that hold up around distractions take steady practice over the full program.
My dog is older (or a rescue). Is it too late to train?
Not at all. We regularly train grown dogs and rescues, and it’s never too late to build better habits.
Can my kids come to lessons?
Yes. Kids are welcome, and it helps when everyone who handles the dog learns the same cues. We keep each step simple enough for younger family members to follow.
What happens at the free consultation?
We meet you and your dog, look at what’s going well and what isn’t, and recommend the program and format that fit. There’s no pressure to sign up.
